These works consist of a series of paintings garments, wearable paintings designed to embody the way travel can make one feel. I have created these pieces based on the cities I visited and experiences I had during my semester abroad and documented the garments in studio and in places around my own city that remind me of these foreign cities. Taking reminders from the home I built in Europe and bringing them back to the city I have called home for the past four years. I have chosen to create garments as it was something I have never done before, and pushed me out of my comfort zone in a similar way that deciding to live abroad did. With these garments and images, I hope to convey how immensely grateful I feel for the experience, and to try and find new adventures in the everyday.
